Here is my ’30 Day Mental Cleanse’ Lesson for your edification, Taken from the 9th chapter of Napoleon Hill’s ‘Think & Grow Rich’
Persistence: The Sustained Effort Necessary to Induce Faith
The 8th Step Toward Riches A few years ago I read this chapter and being the green personality I am I looked up the definition of ‘Persistence’ at Wickipedia. Here are the three meanings that stood out to me, so much so that I pasted them above my pc, where they still remain today . 1.)Obstinately refusing to give up or let go
I find the whole chapter to be quite thought provoking, but overall for me the phrase that really ‘grabbed me’ was the opening phrase ‘PERSISTENCE, The SUSTAINED Effort Necessary to INDUCE Faith’ As we apply Persistence daily & continuously in our business & life efforts we Induce or activate, bring about & create Faith in our lives. As the book of James says Faith without works IS dead. Hill tells us that we can conquer our LACK of Persistence by INTENSIFYING Our Desire which reminds me years ago as a young boy when I discovered the ability to start a small fire by FOCUSING the suns rays through my magnifying glass. We Intensify our Desire for anything in Life by being focused upon it as the one definition says INCESSANTLY & CONTINUOUSLY this I believe starts the Fire of Change & transformation which in Turn Grows our Faith that we can Accomplish anything we determine is worthy to attain. So again this week I have been challenged in this chapter To INDUCE my Faith by developing , honing, & sharpening my Persistence. For too long since leaving the Corporate World in 2002 I have ‘played it safe’ & just been satisfied to ‘get by’. I guess I am finding I have been more scared than I thought to Launch out , use my Gifts, & Build Prosperity in my life. Again as Hill states ‘My mind was FAVORABLE to Poverty.’ It is interesting when you read that paragraph you find that it takes no effort to acquire a Poverty Mindset ,essentially sit back in your easy chair do nothing & the Poverty Mindset will be ATTRACTED to you like a magnet . Wealth or Money Consciousness on the other hand takes EFFORT & Work, applying Persistence to Create it & maintain it. I think the main course for me here is to develop the Mindset that I am Worthy , Deserving, & will use Good stewardship in obtaining Wealth. So These are The 4 Facets of PERSISTENCE I will Develop To Induce my Faith & Grow In Abundance 1) CONTINUSOUSLY Develop & Apply My ‘WHY’…That is my Definite Major Purpose. I want to expand it and grow in my Why through acting on it and sharing with my Mastermind. 2) WORK my Definite PLAN with Continuous action…..For me that is staying daily close to the fire here at The Mental Cleanse & MFF and using the system consistently to attract those whose lives I can impact & help. 3) CLOSE MY MIND to All Negative INFLUENCES…Again this must be done daily & it may seem easy to some however I am finding if one does not keep their ‘guard up’ at all times (Again being Persistent) it is easy to let a negative attitude or thought slip in & before you know it you may be in a funk. 4) A Friendly Alliance with one or More Persons who will encourage one to FOLLOW THROUGH With Both Plan & Purpose…This I have here with this wonderful Mastermind and also several Mentors that I personally meet with on a weekly basis. There is one catch though as Ken Klemm says…and that is to Remain COACHABLE, be open to correction and help I look forward every week to meeting with this Wonderful & Giving Mastermind that I might INDUCE my Faith to Achieve the highest possible & most noble Life I can Live so I can truly be of service to others. Thank you Michael, Linda and all of you who are making my Dreams Possible again! Much Love Matt Geib |

Hi Matt, I always am inspired by your words of wisdom on Facebook and in your blogs. You really have gone through and persisted with your challenge. You may not realize the impact it has given me and others. Just wanted to tell you that.
In this blog, I like your four facets of persistence. I especially like #3 Close your mind to negative influences. It is so amazing how through the course of one day how many negative thoughts we receive. It does take so much practice, I know…I’ve been practicing that a lot lately through different modalities. That’s why I think this resonates with me so much. Once you have put it into practice it becomes sort of a second nature. I’m sure you will master that. Great post!
God Bless,

People need to believe there is a logical reason for all that happens to them. That?s what faith brings to people. In that respect it does for me to. A belief and faith is something that helps people deal with what they don?t understand, or can?t explain. The unexplainable comes in all forms and on both sides of the spectrum like sickness/healing and death/birth. Some people lose their faith, because they can?t believe that God would allow this to happen to them. Others believe that this is a test or that God has a greater plan and He hasn?t told them, or they don?t understand it. What matters is that faith in something that is often needed to help us through life?s misfortunes that are called trials and tribulations. These tests some believe in are often construed to believe that it helps make people worthy to God.

Hi Matthew,
thanks for sharing your insights about persistence. Either way, we are always persistent, aren’t we ? We do either things persistently that hurt us or do things persistently that serve us. It’s not about being persistent or not, it’s just what we do and how we do it.
I could also relate to this sentence: “My mind was FAVORABLE to Poverty.” It’s our mind that we set to poverty or riches. If it is set to poverty, we can choose to set the sails differently, to riches, by doing persistently and consistently what serves us and our lives.
Be blessed

Hey Matthew,
I love the book Think and Grow Rich. I’m actually reading that book again.
I love your thoughts on persistence. It’s definitely for our own good whether we know it or not, it’s going to benefit us.
I always say and think to myself that everything I’d like to accomplish in life starts from within myself. So we have to stay persistent to work on ourselves as individuals to be the best we can.
Thanks for sharing this!
Keep it up!

Faith is vital for a person. Having and keeping one faith we could play out out potential when we are in the worst situation, but where our faith should come from. Maybe the importance is one loyal heart and persistent. You post is a wonderful article and give a great guide to us, thank you!
